I thought I was doing it wrong, turns out I was inventing something.
This bag exists because I misunderstood a YouTube tutorial so catastrophically that restarting felt worse than continuing. So I said, "Screw it," and followed whatever strange thing was happening under my hook.
Back then, I didn't trust my creative instincts much; I didn't think I was the kind of person who could design or invent something of my own. I was only comfortable following rules, patterns, and tutorials made by people who clearly knew what they were doing.
Then... I made a mistake. :)
And because I was too stubborn, — and too tired, — to start over, I was forced to give myself permission to try.
Breaking news: it worked.
Well... kind of. It's still not my favorite design. But it was my first. And it's the reason I trusted my creative instincts a little more the next day, and then the day after that.
Long story short: what began as a misunderstanding slowly developed a personality and refused to become what it was supposed to be.
And I respect that.
